Bruce McMillan PT

Bruce began his career in the field of physical therapy in the <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">US</st1:place></st1:country-region> army as an army-trained medic/physical therapy aide in January of 1971. He became very interested after a vocational testing which suggested that he looked into physical therapy. After Bruce began his earliest courses of study, he knew that he had found his career. He first started civilian work in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Pocono</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Hospital</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> under Mr. Dick Lee, PT. Bruce worked in Pediatrics' vascular testing lab and electromyography and worked in all clinical areas as well as became assistant chief director of physical therapy during his sixth year tenure. In 1982, Bruce took a physical therapy position at <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">St Joseph</st1:place></st1:City> hospital in Polson and worked concurrently there at St Luke Community Healthcare Network in Ronan. At one point, he was working for two home health agencies, two nursing homes and the St Luke Community Hospital.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>Bruce has now worked as a director of physical therapy department here at St Luke for the past 20 years.</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal>Bruce's strong passion with an exceptional care and respect for patients, width and depth of his knowledge and skills that he obtained through a tremendous amount of clinical experience in the field of physical therapy makes our department special place for our patients in this community.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>Bruce's special interests include many aspects of physical therapy such as wound care, manual therapy, orthopedics, pediatrics, health and fitness, sports medicine, amputee, hand therapy and career and staff development.</P>

Cortnee has known that she wanted to be a physical therapist since a very young age as her mother was a physical therapist. As Cortnee was growing up, she spend a lot of time with her mother at her work place and witnessed how her mother helped and impacted people's lives. She wanted to do the same as her mother.</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal>Cortnee has been working as a physical therapist for the past eight years, primarily in area of outpatient orthopedics and has worked in both a private practice and hospital setting. Cortnee is particularly known for a college basketball enthusiast and has played intercollegiate women's basketball at <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Carroll</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">College</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> for four years. Cortnee's tremendous clinical skills and knowledge with her warm personality have assisted many patients to recover from various physical conditions. Her special interests include working with all age groups, particularly sports related injuries in recreational and student athletes, and edema therapy of the upper and lower extremities related to lymphedema, post surgical edema, venous insufficiencies, etc. Cortnee is a certified lymphedema therapist through <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">American</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Academy</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> of Lymphatic Study.</P> <P> </P>

After leaving <st1:State w:st="on">Florida</st1:State> in 2004, Kevin and Karen decided to work as traveling physical therapists in <st1:City w:st="on">Washington</st1:City>, <st1:State w:st="on">Arizona</st1:State>, <st1:State w:st="on">Wyoming</st1:State> and <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Maine</st1:place></st1:State>. Kevin had the opportunity to work at various settings such as acute care, transitional care, and home health while traveling. They moved to the beautiful state of <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:State w:st="on">Montana</st1:State></st1:place> in December 2005 and have enjoyed working at St. Luke Community Hospital Healthcare Network since that time. Karen always had a strong drive to work in the medical field and it became very clear to her that physical therapy was going to be her career as she had many opportunities for a job shadowing and observation of her father as a physical therapist.</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal>Karen began her physical therapy career in <st1:City w:st="on">Orlando</st1:City>, <st1:State w:st="on">Florida</st1:State> in 1993 working at <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Florida</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Hospital</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> where she worked in various patient care areas including acute care, outpatient therapy and wound care as well as working in some administration and leadership capacities. After leaving <st1:State w:st="on">Florida</st1:State> in 2004, Karen worked as traveling physical therapist with Kevin in <st1:City w:st="on">Washington</st1:City>, <st1:State w:st="on">Arizona</st1:State>, <st1:State w:st="on">Wyoming</st1:State> and <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Maine</st1:place></st1:State>. Karen also worked in several different patient care areas such as acute care, transitional care, inpatient rehabilitation and home health. Karen has been working at St. Luke Community Healthcare Network since December 2005.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>Karen works predominantly with our acute care, extended care and pediatric patients needing physical therapy services.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>Karen has been recognized as an employee of the quarter at St. Luke and is highly respected amongst her colleges and patients.</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal>Karen’s special interests include acute care, geriatrics, pediatrics, and health & wellness. </P>
Kyota Shizuku PT, ATC, CSCS

Kyota is a native of <st1:City w:st="on">Toya</st1:City>, <st1:State w:st="on">Hokkaido</st1:State>, <st1:country-region w:st="on">Japan</st1:country-region>, who came to the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:country-region w:st="on">United States</st1:country-region></st1:place> as a foreign exchange student to attend St. Ignatius high school when he was 16 years old. After returning to <st1:country-region w:st="on">Japan</st1:country-region> and graduating from his high school, he decided to go back to the <st1:country-region w:st="on">United States</st1:country-region> to pursue higher education at the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceType w:st="on">University</st1:PlaceType> of <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Montana</st1:PlaceName></st1:place> in 1998. <SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>This decision led to many opportunities for Kyota to take, in order to find out what he was really looking for his life. Kyota believes that he can truly reflect who he is through this special profession, physical therapy, in order to reach out to many people with various physical conditions to help them achieve a positive and meaningful change in their lives, and to promote healthier and stronger community. Kyota holds two national certifications, Athletic Trainer, Certified (ATC) through National Athletic Trainer's Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist(CSCS) through National Strength and Conditioning Association(NSCA), and is currently licensed athletic trainer(LAT) in the state of <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:State w:st="on">Montana</st1:State></st1:place>. Kyota enjoys various indoor and outdoor sports, traveling, cooking, and spending time with his wife, Michelle and first daughter, Amaya.</P>
Teresa Sohr AAS, Transcriptionist/PT Aide
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal>Teresa was born in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Helena</st1:City>, <st1:State w:st="on">Montana</st1:State></st1:place> and has lived in Ronan for the past thirty one years.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>She obtained medical technology degree as well as associate of applied science degree from the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceType w:st="on">University</st1:PlaceType> Of <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Montana College Of Technology</st1:PlaceName></st1:place>. She has been working for the past ten years in physical therapy and speech pathology department here at St Luke performing various job duties including office reception, transcription and physical therapy aide work. She is highly motivated individual for her work and is a great asset to our department.</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal>Teresa enjoys running, spending time with her family, and raising beef cattle on their ranch outside of Ronan. </P>
Cheri Dauber LMT, PT Aide
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal><?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p> </o:p>Cheri is originally from <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Michigan</st1:place></st1:State>. She obtained massage therapy education from Medicine Woman School of Massage in <st1:State w:st="on">Idaho</st1:State>, 1999 and is currently licensed massage therapist in the state of <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Montana</st1:place></st1:State> and is physical therapy aide in our department. Cheri had worked as a physical therapy aide at <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">McCall</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Memorial</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Hospital</st1:PlaceType> physical therapy department for nine years in <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Idaho</st1:place></st1:State>. She has been working as an aide here at St Luke for the past nine years and provides a special support for our patient cares. Cheri enjoys horse back riding, bead work and reading.</P>
Travis Reum LMT, PT Aide
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal>Travis is a native of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Pablo</st1:City>, <st1:State w:st="on">Montana</st1:State></st1:place>. He obtained massage therapy education and is currently licensed massage therapist in the state of <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Montana</st1:place></st1:State> and is physical therapy aide in our department. Travis has been working here for the past seven years and is an exceptional supporter for our patient cares.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>Travis is also known as the black belt Taekwondo martial artist and is currently teaching many students in Ronan. His hobbies include working on old cars, hunting, fishing, and camping.</P>
Brenda Learn Office Manager
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal>Brenda was born and raised in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Montana</st1:place></st1:State>. She has worked here at St Luke for the past twenty three years (twelve years as admission supervisor and eleven years in physical therapy department) and is our physical therapy department’s office manager.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>Brenda’s exceptional management experience and competences as well as quality interaction with our patient and family will ensure a smooth and efficient physical therapy service. Brenda enjoys horses, biking, knitting, many other fun activities but her greatest importance in her life is her family.</P>
Karen DuMont AA, Receptionist/Scheduler
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal>Karen is a native of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Ennis</st1:City>, <st1:State w:st="on">Montana</st1:State></st1:place> and has live in valley for the past thirty years. She obtained an Associate of Art degree in Human Services from SKC. She has worked as a scheduler and receptionist for our physical therapy department for the past four years. Karen enjoys making people laugh because she believes humor is the best medicine! She enjoys carving wood, crochet, reading, painting and gardening. Karen will ensure that you receive the best physical therapy experiences here at St Luke.</P>
